Meet the Artist

Brows that feel like you, only effortless

Hi, I'm Melissa, the licensed semi-permanent makeup artist behind Issaesthetics. I specialise in brows, and only brows, so every ounce of my training and attention goes into creating results that look soft, balanced and naturally yours.

Working from my private studio in Whitefield, I welcome clients from across Manchester who are tired of filling in, patchy growth, over-plucked arches or brows that never quite match. Some want a subtle lift they can wear to the gym and the office. Others want the polished, softly powdered finish of a freshly made-up brow. My job is to listen, then design something that suits your face shape, your skin and your routine.

Every appointment begins with a proper consultation and careful brow mapping. Nothing is rushed and nothing is decided without you. I would much rather spend an extra twenty minutes perfecting the shape than send you home with brows that are anything less than right. Microblading hair stroke brows healed result in Whitefield, Manchester

Microblading uses a fine hand tool to place pigment in delicate, hair-like strokes that mimic your natural brow hairs. It is the most natural option for anyone who wants added fullness, a better shape or to fill sparse gaps without the look of makeup. Each stroke is placed individually, following the direction your own hairs grow.

Ombré powder brows semi-permanent makeup in Manchester

Ombré powder brows are created with a digital machine that builds up tiny dots of pigment for a soft, shaded finish. The front of the brow stays light and airy, gradually deepening towards the tail, much like a beautifully applied brow pencil or powder. This technique suits most skin types, including oily and mature skin, and tends to last longer than microblading.

Combination hybrid brows with hair strokes and shading in Whitefield

Combination brows bring together the best of both techniques. Fine hair strokes are placed at the front of the brow for a natural, feathered start, while soft shading through the body and tail adds definition and depth. It is a beautiful choice if you like a little more structure than microblading alone, or if your brows are very sparse.

The Issaesthetics Standard

Why Manchester trusts us with their brows

  • 01

    Bespoke mapping

Your brows are measured and mapped to your own bone structure, never traced from a stencil. We agree on the shape together before a single stroke is placed.

  • 02

    Natural by design

Pigment is colour-matched to your hair and skin undertone so it heals soft and believable, avoiding the harsh, blocky look of older brow tattoos.

  • 03

    Clean and licensed

Issaesthetics is a licensed SPMU practice. Every treatment uses sterile, single-use blades and needles, in a studio kept to strict hygiene standards.

  • 04

    Honest advice

If a treatment isn't right for your skin or your circumstances, I'll tell you. Clear guidance and realistic expectations come before any booking.

Is It Right For You?

Made for every kind of brow story

Semi-permanent brows are one of the most popular treatments in Manchester for a reason. They save time, build confidence and look beautiful from the moment you wake up. You may love the results if any of these sound familiar.

  • Sparse or thinning brows

Whether from genetics, age or years of over-plucking, gaps and thin patches can be filled with soft strokes or shading that look like real, healthy hair.

  • Busy mornings

If you spend ten minutes every day drawing on your brows, imagine getting that time back. Your brows are done before you've even reached for the coffee.

  • Active lifestyles

Gym sessions, holidays, swimming and long shifts. Once healed, semi-permanent brows stay put when brow pencil and gel would slide straight off.

  • Uneven shape

Most of us have one brow that behaves differently. Careful mapping brings both into balance, so they finally look like sisters rather than distant cousins.

  • Light or fair hair

Very fair brows can disappear in photos. A considered shade adds gentle definition that frames your eyes without ever looking heavy.

  • Faded old work

Brows from a previous artist that have faded, shifted in tone or lost their shape can often be refreshed into something softer and more modern.

The Process

Your microblading appointment, step by step

Knowing what happens on the day makes it far easier to relax. Here is how every brow journey at Issaesthetics unfolds.

  1. 01

    Consultation

We talk through your goals, your skin and your medical history. A patch test is carried out at least 48 hours before treatment to check your skin is happy with the pigment.

  2. 02

    Mapping

Using precise measurements, I draw your new brow shape directly onto your skin. You see exactly how they will look and we adjust until you love them.

  3. 03

    Treatment

A topical numbing cream keeps you comfortable while pigment is applied in strokes, shading or both. Most clients describe the feeling as light scratching.

  4. 04

    Perfecting

Six to eight weeks later, once fully healed, we refine shape and colour so your brows settle into their final, polished look.

Healing & Aftercare

What to expect as your brows heal

Bold and beautiful

Straight after your appointment your brows will look darker, sharper and slightly bolder than the final result. This is completely normal. The skin may feel a little tender and look lightly pink around the brow area. Gently blot away any lymph fluid as advised and keep the area clean and dry.

  • Keep brows dry and avoid heavy sweating for the first 7 to 10 days.
  • Avoid makeup, creams and active skincare on the brow area while healing.
  • Skip saunas, swimming, steam rooms and sunbeds for at least two weeks.
  • Sleep on a clean pillowcase and try not to sleep face down.
  • Never pick or scratch flakes. Let them fall away naturally.
  • Once healed, use SPF on your brows to keep the colour fresh for longer.

FAQ

Microblading questions, answered

Can't see your question? Send a message on Instagram and I'll happily help.

Most clients find microblading far more comfortable than they expected. A topical numbing cream is applied before and during the treatment, and the sensation is usually described as light scratching or tweezing. Everyone's tolerance is different, so we can pause whenever you need.

Microblading typically lasts between 12 and 18 months, while ombré powder brows can last up to three years. Results depend on your skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure and skincare routine. A colour boost every year or so keeps your brows looking fresh.

Microblading creates hair-like strokes and suits normal to dry skin and anyone wanting the most natural finish. Powder brows give a soft, filled-in makeup look and suit oily, combination and mature skin. Combination brows offer a balance of both. We'll choose the best technique together at your consultation.

Treatment isn't suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, while taking Roaccutane or blood thinners, or if you have certain skin conditions or active infections near the brows. Some medical conditions may need GP approval first. Please mention any health concerns when booking so I can advise you properly.

Avoid alcohol, caffeine and blood-thinning painkillers for 24 hours beforehand. Stop retinol and acids around the brows a week before, and avoid tanning, waxing or tinting your brows for two weeks prior. Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin and a reference photo if you have one.

Yes. A patch test is carried out at least 48 hours before your treatment to make sure your skin reacts well to the pigment and numbing products. It is quick, simple and an important part of keeping you safe.

In many cases, yes. Faded or slightly uneven work can often be refreshed or corrected. Very dark or heavily saturated brows may need lightening first. Please send clear, natural-light photos of your brows before booking so I can give you an honest assessment.
